Patent Agent Ann Peng named 2024 Top Woman to Watch in Transportation

Peng drove the formation of a Patent Committee that has been instrumental in Plus’s portfolio of 400+ patents worldwide

We’re proud to share that Ann Peng, Plus’s dedicated patent agent, has received a 2024 Top Woman to Watch in Transportation award from the Women In Trucking Association (WIT).

Peng was one of 75 women selected for their significant career accomplishments as well as efforts to promote gender diversity.

Since joining Plus in 2022, Peng has not only transformed Plus’s patenting process but has also built a strong patent portfolio. Her work helps to protect Plus’s innovative autonomous trucking software technologies, maintain the company’s competitive advantage and foster a culture of innovation.

Specifically, Peng drove the formation of a Patent Committee that has been instrumental in the company’s portfolio of 400+ patents worldwide. Through her work, Peng has also contributed to elevating the public image of trucking – a sector traditionally viewed as slow to adopt new technologies – into one that’s tech-forward and innovative.

Peng has long been interested in the intersection of technology and the law. After obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in computer science – with a focus on autonomous vehicle technology – she worked for several engineering firms as a technologist.

She then shifted to law, working for a number of law firms as a patent agent before moving into her current position at Plus, where she enjoys engaging with Plus engineers and inventors as well as outside counsel.

“Plus is an enormously innovative company, the technology is state-of-the-art and the culture is friendly and collaborative,” Peng said.

This is the third year in a row a Plus leader has been honored as a WIT Woman to Watch in Transportation. Lauren Kwan, VP of Marketing at Plus, was a recipient of the award in 2023. Amisha Vadalia, VP of Operations at Plus, was named to the list in 2022.

Those recognized on the Top Women to Watch in Transportation list work for a broad range of company types in the transportation industry, with job functions that span sales/marketing to corporate management, customer service, engineering/technology, and finance.
