Plus (www.plus.ai), a leading provider of self-driving truck technology, announced today the addition of Dennis “Denny” Mooney to its Advisory Board. Mooney will leverage his decades of expertise in global product development for world-class automotive and truck manufacturers to work with the Plus team to bring to market the industry’s first autonomous trucks.

“We are very pleased to welcome Denny to our advisory board and look forward to his counsel across our engineering, product, and commercialization plans,” said Shawn Kerrigan, COO and co-founder, Plus. “Denny has helped develop some of the highest quality trucks on the market, and his deep understanding of the trucking market and the engineering requirements needed to make the best-in-class vehicles is invaluable to us.”

Mooney has over 40 years of experience in the automotive industry, and held executive roles across operations and product development. He is the former senior vice president of global product development and before that vice president of global engineering at Navistar International Corporation. Prior to that, he had a distinguished 31-year career at General Motors (GM) which included being the executive director for vehicle performance at GM Engineering, serving as chairman and managing director of GM Holden in Australia, and leading global vehicles systems and integration as vice president before retiring from GM.

“Plus’s self-driving truck technology can be a real game-changer for the trucking industry, to address long-standing issues of safety, driver comfort, and fuel efficiency which would benefit both drivers and fleets. I am thrilled to support the team to launch the first autonomous trucks to market,” said Dennis Mooney.

The addition of Mooney to its team is another boost to Plus’s continued business and technology development momentum. These include completing the industry’s first cross-country commercial freight run by an autonomous truck, running pilots with Fortune 500 private shippers in the US, and forming an exclusive joint venture with FAW, China’s largest truck maker, to bring the first intelligent truck to the Chinese market.
