2023 in Review: Celebrating a year of partnership and progress

Partnerships are at the heart of everything we do at Plus and what fuel our drive towards a smarter and safer future. 2023 was a banner year for our collaborations across the global autonomous driving ecosystem – forging new partnerships, expanding existing ones, and sharing our breakthrough innovations on stages near and far.

Started public road testing in Germany

PlusDrive-powered IVECO S-Way trucks commenced public road testing in Germany and are set to expand trials to Austria, France, Italy, and Switzerland, paving the path to factory production. The companies will collect road data to validate their autonomous truck’s operations, demonstrating improved safety and efficiency and a more comfortable experience for drivers.

Launching an autonomous truck pilot in Australia

Plus was selected as the Level 4 autonomous trucking partner for Transurban, one of the world’s largest toll-road operators, to bring autonomous trucks to Australia. The project will help demonstrate how smart road systems together with self-driving vehicles will enhance traffic flow and operational efficiency.

Joining forces with an automotive powerhouse

Plus unveiled a partnership with Bosch, the largest automotive supplier in the world, to offer Level 2++ automated features to their commercial vehicle customers. Bosch’s global scale and deep experience as a system integrator for OEMs around the world will help further scale the commercialization of PlusDrive.

Announcing commercial freight pilot in Germany

Plus announced a groundbreaking four-way partnership for an automated trucking pilot in Germany with dm-drogerie markt, DSV, and IVECO. Piloting with a logistics carrier on a bustling commercial freight route is a key enabler for the large-scale deployment of automated trucks in the coming years.

Delivering zero-emissions autonomy

Plus was selected by Nikola to integrate PlusDrive next-generation safety system into Nikola Tre battery-electric and hydrogen electric vehicles, set to launch by the end of 2024.Together with Nikola’s base technology, PlusDrive will moderate and predict the optimal and safest speed, while also taking full advantage of regenerative braking in traffic and slowing conditions.

Pushing the boundaries of computer vision

Plus announced a collaboration with leading lidar provider Luminar to provide assisted driving software to commercial vehicle OEMs.  Luminar’s Iris lidar, a first-of-its kind, automotive grade sensing solution,will enable PlusDrive to achieve new heights in sensing at further distances and at highway speeds.

Driving IP leadership

Plus holds 400+ awarded and pending patents worldwide to date, reinforcing Plus’s position as an inventive technology leader in the autonomous driving industry.

Championing tech-transport leadership

Plus was voted #2 on 2024 FreightTech 25 list, behind Amazon Freight, by a judging panel of transportation investors, CEOs, and senior industry executives. The award recognizes the most innovative and disruptive companies in the transportation industry.

Promoting workplace excellence

Plus was named to Forbes List of America’s Best Startup Employers 2023, ranked #1 in Technology sector and #9 among top 500 selected companies, in addition to other prestigious industry awards for our high caliber team and transformative autonomous driving software solutions.
